Why hire me to be your personal
tax professional?
A computer can fill out a tax return. Your next-door neighbor can give
you tax advice. A company can even out-source tax preparation to a
data operator in another country.
My approach and experience as an Enrolled Agent is unique. And with
the heart of a teacher and the experience of a seasoned professional,
I can listen, and guide you through your unique tax situations. We will
work together to develop and keep your financial peace of mind.
My Professional Background
IRS trained and employed me for years. I have walked in the shoes of
an auditor, because I was one. I have worked as a liaison for IRS,
coordinating resolution of taxpayers’ special issues. I have trained IRS
employees and the community. I can put my experience to work for you.
My history with the IRS began in 1991. As a college intern, I was
available to train and work in “every” area. This was a great educational
experience for me, and opened my eyes to the internal culture of IRS.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Westminster College of Salt Lake
City, Utah, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. After graduation,
I continued my professional education at IRS with special training in
the areas of small business, corporate and partnership taxation, and
various specific technical areas. Then, as a Revenue Agent, I worked
in the field for many years, auditing businesses and individuals, and
guiding taxpayers on the right path.
On behalf of IRS, I developed and taught community outreach classes
to civic groups, such as military resource volunteers, university family
resource centers, immigrant support groups and English-As-A-Second-
Language (ESL) classes, high school students, and VITA volunteers.
I also gave training workshops to other Revenue Agents.
After gaining excellent training and experience from Uncle Sam, I
transitioned into the private sector, utilizing my experience to help a
large organization with tax compliance, research and administration. I
was
a Senior Tax Analyst for a large non-profit organization and prepared their
990. I also became an Enrolled Agent and launched my own tax
preparation and representation firm, utilizing my unique and varied
experience for the benefit of my clients. I have served the public since
1999, both as a self-employed professional, and as an employee of a
full-service accounting firm. I have offered classes to the public and
spoken to community groups and high school students. I have assisted
many people in untangling complicated tax situations, planning to
minimize their tax burden, and keeping them compliant with tax filings.
I will not take unnecessary risks with the tax code. That is unethical,
and is a waste of time for both of us. But I will work within the law to
identify available deductions and credits that apply to you. I will also
keep an eye open for future tax planning opportunities. If you have a
question about something you “heard from somewhere,” please ask.
Thank you for taking valuable time to read more about me. I look
forward to serving you. Please call me year-round for any of your tax-
related needs.
